Query Letter

Picture
A query letter is  something you send to a potential employer to flaunt who you are, where you've been, and why you're a valuable employee. For example:

Dear Seventeen,
I would like to be considered for a position in your magazine. I have had experience working for American Girl Magazine writing for the Advice section for over a year, my local post, under the book reviews, and my college post at Yale.
I understand the issues a young girl goes through and have personally experienced all the brutality of high-school. I studied psychology, so I understand what a teenager wants and needs to hear.
I am adept at  keeping up with what the latest teen obsession is, which will prepare me to inform the audience about the latest news on celebrities.
Sincerely,
M.
